Collection: A WORLD OF CRAFT

A World of Craft by Afroart has been in Stockholm since 1967 and is run by six textile designers, all of whom are trained at Konstfack in Stockholm.

The idea has always been to collaborate with local artisans to make the craft from countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America visible.

The idea is to use design as a tool, develop and market adapt the traditional craft and in this way contribute to creating new jobs in regions where crafts are today the most important source of income. This means that unique handicraft traditions have the opportunity to survive and that A World of Craft's customers have access to the world's handicrafts.

Crafts themselves do not consume nature's resources and use a little energy. The production is mainly made of natural or recycled materials. A World of Craft's range is manufactured by hand and usually in the countryside, which means that people can stay in their hometowns and not be forced to go to the cities to work.

A World of Craft imports directly from artisans or through fair trade organizations.

Fair trade is a matter of course for us!
