The Grand Ino Schaller Edit

Monumental Santas and exceptionally detailed collector figures, handmade in Germany

The Grand Ino Schaller Edit brings together the largest, most elaborate, and most extraordinary figures in the BON TON goods collection. Selected for their commanding scale, remarkable decoration, and individual character, these are among the historic German workshop’s most exceptional creations.

Some are monumental statement pieces, designed to become the centre of a Christmas display. Others have been chosen for the extraordinary richness of their hand-finishing: beaded robes, crystals, metallic leaf, fur trim, miniature winter scenes, decorated trees, toy-filled bags, and carefully painted details.

Ino Schaller has produced papier-mâché figures in Germany since 1894. Today, the fourth-generation family workshop continues to shape, paint, and decorate its figures by hand, often working with historic moulds and a traditional production method more than a century old.

The figures gathered here represent the most ambitious side of Ino Schaller. From grand Santas in brilliant copper, forest green, gold, silver, red, and jewel-like blue to unusual snowmen, Krampuses, and Easter figures, each has the presence of a theatrical object and the individuality of something made by hand.

Many of these designs are available only as single pieces. Once sold, the precise combination of colour, decoration, expression, and finishing may not return.

Collector’s note: Grand Ino Schaller figures require very little accompaniment. Place one on a console, mantel, pedestal, or generous dining table with candlelight and natural greenery, allowing the craftsmanship and scale of the figure to command the scene.
