Collection: INO SCHALLER EASTER

Ino Schaller: A Bavarian Legacy of Handcrafted Whimsy Since 1894

What began in 1894 as Carl Schaller’s humble papier-mâché workshop in Neustadt, Germany, has grown into a globally beloved family tradition spanning five generations. Carl, a trained embosser, modeled and crafted each figure by hand—later decorating them with the help of his entire family. His son Ino, a baker by trade, took the reins in the 1940s and gave the company its name.

By the 1950s, the traditional techniques had faded—but in the 1980s, Carl’s great-grandson Thomas Schaller revived the magic. With his father Dieter, he brought the classic paper forms back to life, ensuring the Ino Schaller legacy would continue to enchant collectors worldwide.

“We first introduced Malmö to the world of Ino Schaller this Christmas with their fanciful Santas and woodland creatures. At Easter, we were thrilled to carry a warren of glittery bunnies, rabbits, and large hares. Some are beautifully beaded, others made in traditional painted papier-mâché. Each one handcrafted and meant to delight for years.”
