Founded in Vienna in 1823, J. & L. Lobmeyr quickly became one of Europe’s most respected crystal manufacturers. The company’s history is intertwined with the cultural and artistic life of Vienna itself, supplying crystal to imperial households, historic cafés, and some of the most refined interiors of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Over generations Lobmeyr collaborated with leading designers and architects, including figures associated with the Wiener Werkstätte and the modernist movement that reshaped European decorative arts.

Yet despite this long history, Lobmeyr has remained devoted to a remarkably consistent philosophy: clarity of form, purity of material, and masterful handcraft.

Crystal and Everyday Ritual

The beauty of Lobmeyr glass lies not only in its craftsmanship but in its relationship to daily life. A vase holding a single stem, a glass raised in conversation, or a small dish placed beside a table lamp. These are objects designed to accompany the quiet rituals of living.

The extraordinary clarity of Lobmeyr crystal allows light to move through the glass with remarkable softness. Forms appear almost architectural in their simplicity, revealing the subtle precision of hand-blown craftsmanship.

Viennese Craftsmanship

Each piece of Lobmeyr crystal is mouth-blown and finished by hand in Vienna by highly skilled artisans. The result is glass of extraordinary finesse, vessels that transform simple gestures—flowers, light, water—into moments of quiet elegance.

A Dialogue with Craft

At BON TON goods, Lobmeyr crystal sits naturally beside other houses devoted to craftsmanship and material integrity. Porcelain from Nymphenburg, the sculptural designs of Ted Muehling, and the ceramics of Astier de Villatte share the same devotion to form, beauty, and handmade production.

Placed together, these objects create a quiet dialogue between crystal, porcelain, and ceramic—materials that reflect light, texture, and time in different ways.
