A Royal Christmas with Trudon Candles

Christmas is a time for celebration, and what better way to add a touch of luxury and elegance to your holiday festivities than with a Trudon candle?

Trudon is a French candlemaker with a long and storied history, dating back to 1643. That’s 380 years this year!

The company has been a favorite of royals and aristocrats for centuries, and their candles are still made using the same traditional methods today.

The History of Trudon

François Trudon founded the company in 1643, and it quickly became the leading candlemaker in France. Trudon candles were used in the royal palaces of Versailles and Fontainebleau, and they were also popular among the aristocracy. The company's candles were known for their quality and their beautiful scents, and they were often given as gifts to important guests.

Trudon Winter Collection

For the festive season, Trudon lights up even brighter as it celebrates its 380th anniversary.

Composed of four distinctive perfumes, each scented candle shines bold, glorified with golden rays that eco both the solar power of the Sun King and the rising importance of astronomy as a science.

Unfolding like a shining star, Altaïr marries the strength of oud with the delicateness of rose.

Crafted with care and a unique savoir-faire, the colorful glasses are adorned with gold leaf on the inside: shining through by transparency, a hallo of golden beams surrounds a metalized Trudon emblem. Luminous, Altaïr stands out in a singular glass: gold on the inside, it is covered in silver leaf on the outside.

Here are some of the Trudon candles and accessories that are perfect for this Holiday season:

  • The Trudon taper candle snuffer is a tool of precision: it allows to extinguish the taper candle without pinching the wick or smothering it. The candle’s flame vanishes, without smoke. This way, the wick can easily be lit up again. With this modern-day accessory, Trudon daily ritual is once again reinvented.

  • Trudon Eteignoir is tool of precision: a thin brass hook reaches out to press the wick into the wax, without pinching it or smothering it. Under its grip, the candle’s flame vanishes, without smoke. Once raised back up and centred, the wax-coated wick can easily be lit up again. With this modern-day accessory, Trudon daily ritual is once again reinvented.

  • The Classic Gold Brass Base is made for Trudon scented candles. Daily rituals at Trudon come with a sense of royalty and nobility.

  • The Classic Trudon Candle Topper is handmade in brass in century old ateliers, the Brass Cover has become part of an important house ritual, as is it used to preserve the candle's exceptional scent, then carefully lifted to reveal it.

  • At Trudon, Matches are an essential part of the ritual. In one crack, it ignites the wick, surprises the shadow and gives life to light. Delicately perfumed, it signs the prologue for some of the stories behind the candles. Elegant, long and delicate, asleep in their illustrated boxes, they patiently wait for their destiny. If the box is left slightly open, they will slightly scent, in their sleep, a drawer, a cupboard or a study.

For its 380th anniversary, Trudon dives back into history and launches Tuileries: the new scent hints back at the French heritage and the countless stories it holds.

Tuileries finds its inspiration in a rare document kept at the French National Archives: the Gazette des Atours de la Reine. In what seems like an ordinary notebook, countess Geneviève d’Ossun – a French courtier who served as lady-in-waiting and first maid of honor to Marie Antoinette – gathered many fabric samples used to tailor the sovereigns’ many dresses and royal outfits. The fragrance was conceived as an homage to the rose, the Queen’s favorite flower throughout her life.

Trudon candles are the perfect way to add a touch of luxury and elegance to your Christmas.
