Add a touch of authentic vintage charm to your holiday décor with this antique French Christmas tin, dating from around 1900–1910. The beautifully lithographed Santa Claus illustration, with “Merry Christmas” in elegant script, wraps the entire surface in festive cheer.
A particularly fascinating detail is the notary stamp of P. Ronarc’h, Saint-Gilles-Pligeaux, Côtes-du-Nord, a French notary active between 1894 and 1911. The presence of this mark suggests the use of recycled official papers in the tin’s decoration, a common practice in rural France at the time.
The tin has a warm, timeworn patina with areas of rust and wear, as expected for a piece over a century old. Though the handle is missing, the decorative ring pull remains, and the surface retains much of its original character.
Dimensions: 15 cm tall × 12 cm circumference
Condition: Antique, with patina, rust, and missing handle consistent with age and use
A collectible piece of French holiday history—perfect for display or as a unique gift for antique lovers.
