The Art of Domino Paper
Antoinette Poisson
Hand-printed papers, historic pattern and the intimate decorative world of eighteenth-century France
Antoinette Poisson revives the tradition of domino paper, the small hand-printed and hand-coloured sheets once used to line boxes, books and the private interiors of eighteenth-century France. Working from its Paris atelier, the house researches historic motifs and brings them forward through meticulous contemporary craft.
Patterns of flowers, ribbons, geometry and delicate foliage appear across loose and framed papers, cushions, pocket mirrors, books and remarkable marriage boxes. Each object preserves the sensitivity of hand-applied colour and the quiet irregularity that gives historic decoration its life.
BON TON goods gathers Antoinette Poisson pieces for collectors who value paper, pattern and the enduring atmosphere of the French decorative arts.
