Trudon's Iconic Bust Candles: A Tribute to French Heritage and Craftsmanship
In collaboration with the Réunion des Musées Nationaux – Grand Palais, Trudon has transformed some of France's most celebrated historical figures into remarkable sculptural candles. Drawing upon molds preserved in the archives of the French National Museum Council, each bust is a faithful reproduction of an original work, rendered in richly pigmented wax and produced entirely by hand.
The collection reflects Trudon's unique position within French history. Founded in 1643, the house supplied churches, royal residences, and ultimately the court of Louis XIV, earning the title Manufacture Royale de Cire. Today, that heritage continues through objects that exist at the intersection of decorative art, sculpture, and craftsmanship.
Each bust is poured and finished by hand in Trudon's Normandy atelier. Unscented and intended primarily as decorative objects, they celebrate some of the most recognizable figures and symbols of French culture. Marie Antoinette, Napoleon Bonaparte, Lafayette, and others emerge not simply as candles, but as miniature monuments, equally at home in a library, salon, or collector's cabinet.
Whether displayed individually or grouped together, these sculptural candles embody the qualities that have defined Trudon for centuries: artistry, history, and an unwavering commitment to French craftsmanship.

Tip: Trudon's bust candles are particularly striking when displayed alongside books, framed artwork, marble objects, and antique decorative pieces. They bring a sense of history and permanence to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
