Eclectic Tree
One-of-a-kind collage wreaths and sculptural wall works by Swedish-German artist Simone Löhndorf
Eclectic Tree is the artistic world of Simone Löhndorf, a collage artist and cognitive linguist based in Lund, Sweden. Her work explores meaning, context and the unexpected relationships that appear when images from different cultures, periods and visual traditions are brought together.
Featured in Glue: Holding It All Together — Collage, Assemblage & Other Sticky Pursuits, Simone works by hand with paper, scissors, glue and found materials, building richly layered compositions that are colourful, tactile and deeply individual.
Her wreaths extend that collage practice into three dimensions. Hundreds of paper fragments are combined with beads, flowers, feathers, miniature animals, vintage-inspired ornaments and curious found objects to create small theatrical worlds for the wall.
No two are alike. Each piece is made individually in Sweden and reveals new details the longer you look.
