Several times a year, we open a small window for our clients to request pieces that are specially made to order in Astier de Villatte’s Parisian workshop. Every plate, cup, or serving piece begins as black terracotta clay, shaped and fired by artisans whose hands know every nuance of the form.
The milky white glaze that follows is translucent, soft, and utterly singular, a finish that feels almost like porcelain yet retains the graceful irregularities of true craftsmanship. No two are alike, and that is their poetry.
