Christmas can begin with a single branch, but it rarely stays there. A garland finds its way across a mantel, brass stars catch the light in the tree, and a small paper mistletoe branch marks a favourite doorway.
Our A World of Craft edit is a generous invitation to decorate: folded and quilled paper, long strands of garland, botanical shapes and natural-fibre animals. Swedish design meets international artisan traditions, gathered here at BON TON goods in Malmö. Eclectic Tree’s handmade Swedish wreaths offer a final, individual flourish.
01 · Folded, curled & shaped
Paper ornaments, with a little architecture.
A World of Craft gives paper an extraordinary range of forms. A fold makes a diamond; a curl becomes a star. Choose a few shapes in natural tones and white, then let them repeat through the tree.

02 · Across the room
Garlands make the whole room Christmas.
Garlands connect the tree to the room around it. Sweep one across a mantel, frame a doorway or let a strand travel through the branches. Repeat a colour already present in the ornaments: soft white, warm gold, or a generous run of Christmas red. Mix a longer, quieter strand with a more detailed garland, letting their different shapes read against a simple wall or a bank of greenery.

03 · Botanical Christmas
Mistletoe, berries & paper greenery.
A paper mistletoe branch brings the shape of winter greenery into the house without the rush of replacing fresh stems. Hang it above a doorway, or give its leaves and berries a place of their own against a pale wall. Add red berries for a clearer Christmas accent, or carry green and white through a doorway with the Dandelion Kathmandu garland.

04 · A warmer gleam
Brass birds, stars & a garland to keep.
Brass brings a different kind of light to the tree. Its warm surface sits beautifully against deep green branches and pale paper. Hang a pair of birds where their silhouettes can be seen clearly, repeat a star nearby, and let a brass garland draw the details together.

05 · A woodland gathering
Four little characters for the branches.
A bear, a beaver, a squirrel and a very small hedgehog give the tree a cast of characters. Natural fibres remain visible in their bristled silhouettes. Choose a favourite animal or gather a little woodland among the paper ornaments.
06 · A Swedish maker’s finishing touch
