MIKKEL BRØGGER — Jewelry Installation & Retrospective

This autumn, BON TON goods presents an immersive installation tracing Mikkel Brøgger’s twenty-five-year practice—new one-of-a-kind jewels in dialogue with formative works that shaped his language.

From the outset in 2000, Brøgger has embraced the role of artistic craftsman: ideas moving through hand and material until form appears. Between 2003–2008 he refined a single, essential outline—the stone/pebble silhouette—that evolved into a personal vocabulary seen across mixed metals, gemstones, textures, and finishes. Each piece is a small sculpture: intimate to wear, resonant in space, and alive with the weight of the hand.

His touch carries a modern lineage—Calder, Motherwell, Serra, Belperron, Art Smith, and Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe—yet the voice is distinctly his own. The exhibition honors these silhouettes and the journey they have travelled: from early sketches to the celebrated Stone series and onward to the newest works created for this show.

From the artist
“I define myself as an artistic craftsman—a role that embraces multiplicity. Inspiration arrives as moments and emotions, taking shape in materials, gestures, and forms. Each piece is a celebration of the handmade object, a wearable sculpture that carries both weight and poetry.” — Mikkel
