THE FOUNDERS - SHANE D. HUDSON

Shane D. Hudson
Co-Founder, Director of Brand & Operations
Shane brings a storyteller’s sensibility and a curator’s eye to BON TON goods. His path has long been guided by a love of beauty, history, and craft, from early days spent combing Southern antique markets and making Christmas decorations by hand, to a career spanning performing arts, publishing, and design.
Originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Shane is equal parts Southern warmth and Yankee practicality. For the past decade he served as Executive Director of Primary Stages in New York City, guiding the company through growth, leadership transition, and the pandemic years. His earlier work includes leadership roles with Elevator Repair Service Theater, PlayMakers Repertory Company, and StageSource, as well as serving as General Manager and Marketing Director for Blue Man Group and managing Boston’s historic Charles Playhouse. He also founded GhostLight Media, Inc., a consultancy supporting arts organizations across New England.
Shane earned a BFA in Theater Management from Emerson College and an MFA from the Yale School of Drama, where he deepened both artistry and administration as Managing Director of the Yale Cabaret and Assistant Managing Director of Yale Repertory Theatre. He has served on the boards of StageSource, Arts North Carolina and Triangle ArtWorks, and has supported arts organizations as a consultant in development, branding, and digital strategy.
At BON TON goods, Shane shapes the brand’s voice and vision, blending elegance, imagination, and a touch of theatricality. His affection for antiques, craftsmanship, and the poetry of everyday objects infuses the spirit of the shop, where candles, jewels, and ornaments are chosen not only for beauty, but for the stories they carry.
He believes beauty should not only be seen, but felt.
