THE FOUNDERS - SHANE D. HUDSON
Shane D. Hudson (CO-FOUNDER, DIRECTOR OF BRAND + OPERATIONS) brings a storyteller’s sensibility and a curator’s eye to BON TON goods. His path has always been guided by a love of beauty, history, and craft, from youthful days scouring Southern antique markets and hand-making Christmas decorations to a distinguished career in the performing arts, publishing, and design.
Originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Shane is equal parts Southern warmth and Yankee practicality. For the past decade, he has served as Executive Director of Primary Stages in New York City, steering the company through growth, transition, and resilience during the pandemic. His earlier career includes leadership roles with Elevator Repair Service Theater, PlayMakers Repertory Company, and StageSource in Boston, as well as time as General Manager and Marketing Director for Blue Man Group and manager of Boston’s historic Charles Playhouse. He is the founder of GhostLight Media, Inc., a consultancy supporting arts organizations across New England.
Shane earned his BFA in Theater Management at Emerson College and his MFA from the Yale School of Drama, where he honed both artistry and administration as Managing Director of the Yale Cabaret and Assistant Managing Director of Yale Repertory Theatre. Along the way, he has served on the Boards of Arts North Carolina and Triangle ArtWorks, and has been a trusted consultant for arts organizations in development, branding, and digital strategy.
At BON TON goods, Shane shapes the brand’s voice and vision, blending elegance, imagination, and a touch of theatricality. His lifelong affection for antiques, craftsmanship, and the poetry of everyday objects infuses the spirit of the shop, where every candle, jewel, and ornament carries a story, and the simple act of beauty becomes an invitation to memory and wonder.
BON TON goods reflects Shane’s enduring belief that beauty should not only be seen but felt, an experience as welcoming as a Southern table and as timeless as a winter’s tale.
