One-of-a-kind | Handmade in New York City
The Jewel of Winter: There are pieces that feel born from a season.
The Tahitian Pearl and Labradorite Necklace by Mikkel Brøgger carries the atmosphere of winter at its most luminous, where light moves like silk across water and gemstone. The necklace glows with deep ocean hues, soft greens, violet undertones, and the spectral flash of Labradorite. It is both elegant and elemental, a contemporary heirloom that celebrates nature’s complexity through craftsmanship of the highest order.
The Jewels of Sea and Stone
This one-of-a-kind necklace combines Tahitian pearls in shades of peacock, aubergine, and silvered green with smooth Labradorite beads measuring approximately 8–10 mm. The gemstones are individually selected for tone and luminosity, then strung by hand on lavender silk thread, an unexpected detail that enhances the subtle iridescence of each pearl.
Labradorite’s characteristic sheen, known as labradorescence, mirrors the Northern lights in miniature. Together with the pearls’ shifting colors, the effect is mesmerizing — a dialogue between ocean and sky.
Gold, Craft, and Balance
The necklace is completed with a handcrafted clasp and lock in 14-karat yellow gold, created in Mikkel Brøgger’s New York workshop. The clasp itself is a small work of sculpture, designed for harmony rather than embellishment. Every curve and connection reflects the designer’s architectural approach to jewelry, where proportion and restraint allow the materials to lead.
The finished piece measures 83 cm (32 ¾ inches), a generous length that can be layered or worn long against winter fabrics. It drapes with the weight of authenticity and the ease of something built to endure.
The Spirit of the Season
This is a necklace for the colder months, when evening comes early and light turns precious. The peacock tones of the pearls and the shifting blue-green fire of Labradorite echo candlelight and festive glass, the shimmer of gatherings and the hush after celebration.
It feels ceremonial yet effortless, designed for the person who values artistry over ornament, elegance over display. It belongs at the table, beneath chandeliers, or beside the glow of a Trudon candle. In every setting it carries the mood of winter luxury — refined, mysterious, and full of life.
An Heirloom in the Making
Every piece of Mikkel Brøgger Jewelry is handmade in small numbers and rooted in the principles of Scandinavian design: clarity of form, integrity of material, and honesty of craft. This necklace captures those ideals while expressing something entirely individual. There will never be another exactly like it.
The union of Tahitian pearls, Labradorite, and gold feels timeless, yet unmistakably contemporary. It is jewelry designed not for a season but for a lifetime, to be worn and remembered.
