Who is Mikkel Brøgger?
Mikkel Brøgger is a Danish jeweler and designer whose work brings Scandinavian restraint into conversation with the energy, confidence, and craftsmanship of New York.
Educated in industrial design and fine art, Mikkel has spent more than two decades working across jewelry, objects, art, and design. His career has moved through Copenhagen, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Paris, London, and Stockholm. Along the way, he worked closely with Ted Muehling, Charlotte Lynggaard, and John Derian, and designed jewelry for houses including David Yurman and Georg Jensen.
These experiences are visible in the finished work, but never as quotation. Mikkel’s jewelry has its own vocabulary: sensuous metal, unexpected color, natural forms, antique references, careful proportion, and a belief that precious jewelry should still feel personal.
Each collection begins with observation. A pebble, shell, old setting, fragment of architecture, luminous pearl, or unusually colored stone can become the starting point. Sketches are refined through the direct experience of making, allowing the material to shape the final object.
