Flowers and Swans
French Historical Wallpaper, ca. 1775
Flowers and Swans was printed by the legendary wallpaper manufacturer Jean-Baptiste Réveillon in Paris in the late 18th Century.
It is a reproduction from Tapetorama of an original wallpaper with art work and pattern assumed by the Italian designer Pierre Cietti.
Cietti is the likeliest designer based that he worked at Réveillon workshop during the late-18th-century scenic papers (including the large-scale pictorial sets from ca. 1780 that include birds, swans and floral motifs).
Réveillon's studio was considered the foremost in the world at the time, printing wallpapers for the French Queen Marie-Antoinette, among others, but he was forced to flee when his home was stormed by an angry mob in the run-up to the French Revolution.
The wallpaper is printed to order on full-matt non-woven in rolls that are 10 meters long and 50 cm wide.
Available exclusively at BON TON Goods and Tapetorama.
