Crystal and Ben Sloane, a talented husband-and-wife team, invite you into their whimsical world of vintage-inspired spun cotton figures and ornaments, handcrafted in their home studio in beautiful upstate New York. Drawing inspiration from the antique cotton ornaments of the Victorian era, their work pays homage to a long-lost art form—one that was developed over 100 years ago by cottage artisans in Germany.

Spun cotton was once a cherished craft, creating delicate, magical holiday decorations that captivated the hearts of many. But as time passed and the war interrupted production, this exquisite tradition faded into obscurity. Japanese manufacturers later attempted to mimic the technique using machine-pressed cotton, but the true artistry was largely forgotten.

Driven by a passion for preserving this rare craftsmanship, Crystal and Ben have revived the art of spun cotton with their own unique approach. They have perfected their craft, creating countless miniature works of art since 2005. Each piece is lovingly handmade, ensuring that every ornament carries the charm, nostalgia, and whimsy of a bygone era.
